Middleburg Communities and Creating our Futures Inc. teamed up to bring a drive thru style food giveaway and meet & greet which was held at Adams Park for all the residents of our Vesta communities in Atlanta. This was a very powerful and effective event especially during these hard times. Families were able to get enough food to last them weeks, find out more about local resources and kids were able to receive free school supplies. Several community agencies like The Dekalb County Board of Health & CareSource were able to attend this event. These two agencies provide many free and helpful resources like health care, rental assistance, and job readiness programs just to name a few.
The free food and groceries were provided by Feeding GA and the school supplies were provided by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. In total we were able to serve over 147 people in just a two-hour period! Residents were very excited to see Middleburg Communities wanting to get out and help the community that we serve. One resident said “This means everything to me and my kids. I am so happy and proud to be a resident of this community!”. This event was a complete success and Middleburg Communities will continue to serve the community and giveback whenever possible.
