The group arrived early morning ready to pack some gifts for families and their kids. The Salvation Army staff and Major Wilson were a great source of motivation and guidance through this process.
The Angel Tree program is one of the Salvation Army’s highest profile Christmas efforts. The Salvation Army created this program in 1979 by Major Charles and Shirley White when they worked with a Lynchburg, Virginia shopping mall to provide clothing and toys for children at Christmas time.
Middleburg was extremely proud to see what a success this year’s Angel Tree program was. The Salvation Army provided more than 6,000 families in the National Capital Area with holiday assistance, nearly 14,000 children in our community got to open Christmas presents!
Thank you Fairfax Salvation Army for allowing Middleburg to contribute to such beautiful cause.
